Functional Dry Needling

What is dry needling?

Functional Dry Needling is a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, as well as muscular and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. In other words, dry needling causes a contraction within the trigger point, often resembling a cramp, that then causes the muscle to release and reset.

Functional Dry Needling can be used to treat many conditions, including, but not limited to:

  • Headaches
  • TMJ Pain
  • Neck, Shoulder, & Back Pain
  • Tennis/Golfers Elbow
  • Hip & Gluteal Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Knee Pain
  • Achilles Tendonitis/Tendonosis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Muscular Strains/Ligament Sprains
  • Chronic Pain
